Assessment for kids and teens

We offer assessment services to meet the unique needs of children, adolescents and their parents, including psych-educational assessments (which includes assessment of ADHD) at our east end Toronto office.

A comprehensive assessment can help answer questions about your child or teen’s learning abilities, educational barriers, or other thinking and behavioural challenges. We offer:

Psych-educational assessment for ages 8 to 18

A psych-educational assessment is a comprehensive assessment that can help answer questions about your child or teen's learning abilities, educational barriers, or other thinking and behavioural challenges. An assessment allows parents, the school team, and the individual student to better understand their areas of strength as well as areas that need support and further development.  If you are hoping to better understand your child’s learning challenges or have been asked by the school team to complete a psych-educational assessment, this is the right place to start.

A psych-educational assessment (which includes assessment of ADHD) typically involves:

  1. A clinical interview with parents/caregivers

  2. Review of school records including past report cards

  3. Standardized testing for a variety of skills including thinking and reasoning skills, academic skills, memory, language processing, attention and executive functioning skills

  4. parent/caregiver and teacher questionnaires

  5. Following the testing, a parent/caregiver meeting is scheduled where the results are shared

  6. A written report (to be completed within 4 to 6 weeks after the testing is completed)
